In 1992, Karen Lane of Elfheim Cattery met Curt Gabbard of Cincicatti Cattery, and an instant
friendship formed. We decided to co-own a wonderful Birman boy and show him
together, this was GC.RW. Cincicatti Pooh Bear of Elfheim. Poohy was best Birman
in CFA in the 1993/94 season. The friendship between us grew and along the way
we realized that we shared the same goals; to breed the best without sacrificing
the health of the cats, no matter the cost. In 1993 we decided to share the same
cattery name and Whitesox was born. Whitesox is two small home based, 'not for
profit' catteries operating as one. All of our cats and kittens live and are
raised in our homes underfoot and are given lots of human attention. Our cattery
is inspected yearly by a veterinarian and we have achieved the Cat Fancy
Association's highest rating of "Cattery of Excellent" award.
We work hard to produce glorious show quality kittens and usually have beautiful
companion kittens available as well. We believe that pet kittens should be just
as wonderful as the kittens we show, they are raised in the same way and are
equally cared for, and have the same outgoing personality as the show kittens,
any flaws visible only to the experienced breeder. We vet check all our kittens
three times before
they leave our homes.
We
usually have waiting lists for both pet and show quality kittens. We also
sometimes have retired show/breeder adults available for
adoption
too. |
